How do I become a verified user?

  • Updated

You can verify your account to enjoy higher purchase limits once the basic account limits are reached. You can easily verify your identity through a process called Know Your Customer (KYC). Note that in certain cases, we reserve the right to request you to verify your account.

Here you can learn more about our account purchasing limits levels: https://help.bitrefill.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019385360-Is-there-a-purchasing-top-up-limit-

To verify your account, log in, select your name at the top right and go to “Settings”. In the “Account” section, go to “Identity Verification” and click on “Verify” to begin the verification process.

Step 1. ID Document
Select the country and document type of the ID you wish to use. You can use any official government document — ID card, passport, driving license, residence permit  — valid for at least one month after the present date. Next, take a good-quality photo of your ID, and please be aware of the following:
  • the information on the document must be legible
  • all corners of the document within the frame should be visible
  • two-page or two-sided documents must have all pages/sides photographed
  • the acceptable file types are JPEG and PDF, at least 500KB in size
Note: You may start the verification on desktop and switch to mobile midway through, if necessary. Press “Continue on your phone” to switch to mobile using a QR code or a link.

Step 2: Liveness Check
Face the camera and slowly rotate your head in a full circle to complete our liveness verification. Please try to keep your face within the frame throughout the procedure.

Step 3: Proof of Address
Submit photos of proof of address documents for validation — the same way you uploaded your ID document. Note that if you are a US resident, you won't need to provide a POA document in order to complete the verification process.

Please make sure that your document has your full name, current address and no older than 6 months before the date of submission. Examples of supported proof of residence documents are:

  • Utility bill for gas, electricity, water, internet, etc.
  • Bank statement
  • Credit card statement issued by a bank
  • Tax bill
  • Home internet and TV bills (but not from satellite TV companies).
  • Landline and mobile telephone bill
  • Mortgage statement
  • Certificate of voter registration

When taking photos, please note that:
  • Provide an original photo of a paper document or a digital PDF version
  • The document must contain your full name (the same as on your ID document), home address, and the date of issue
  • All corners of the document should be within the frame
  • The documents need to be different from the ones used in Step 1
Step 4: Submitting Your Application
Now you’ll just have to wait while we review your application. This won’t take long, and the status of your application will be updated automatically. If something goes wrong, you’ll get a message with clear instructions on how to resolve the issue.
