The Muun (with 2 ‘U’s) wallet is one of the most easy-to-use bitcoin and lightning (what is lightning, and how to set up muun?) wallet in the market. This guide explains how to spend your Bitcoin on Muun using Bitrefill.
Step 1: Go to https://www.bitrefill.com/buy or download the Bitrefill app on your phone and choose a product among the biggest brands out there (Amazon, Airbnb, Netflix, among many others). For this guide, we are going to purchase an Amazon Spain gift card.
1.1. Bitrefill's Home Page: Select the country and product you are interested in.
1.2. Product's page: Enter the amount of the product and add it to the card.
1.3. Shopping Cart: You can either add more products or checkout. For this guide, we are gonna proceed to checkout only with the Amazon gift card.
1.4. Order details: Review your basket and choose the payment method you would like to choose. We currently accept cryptocurrencies such as Ether, Bitcoin (on-chain and Lightning), Dash, Dogecoin, Litecoin, and USDT (ERC20 and TRC20). For this guide, we will make the payment using Bitcoin as Muun is a bitcoin and lightning wallet.
1.5. Checkout page: At this step, you will see the payment instructions. You can either select "Pay in Wallet" so Muun opens automatically with the payment details or you can manually copy and paste the payment information. *If you are using the website or paying with a different phone, you can scan the QR code and Muun will automatically process the information ready for you to confirm the payment.
Step 2: Complete the payment using your Muun wallet. For this guide, we will choose to manually copy and paste the payment instructions using the Muun mobile App.
2.1. Muun Home Page: When you open Muun App, you will see your bitcoin amount, you can select either Send or Receive. Here you want to select Send.
2.2. Muun wallet page: After selecting Send and either paste the invoice from your clipboard or click the QR scanner which needs access to your camera.
2.3. If your phone does not have a working camera, please copy and paste the bitcoin address which is different from lightning as lightning invoices have the letters L and N in lowercase ‘ln’ at the beginning of the string. Muun wallet will automatically detect the address type if it is a valid bitcoin or lightning address.
Step 3: Once you input the invoice amount e.g. in this Guide it was Redeem your gift card and enjoy your purchase =)
3.1. Bitrefill's Account: You can see your gift card details under your Account>My Products.
